McCartney & Blake's Paradise Cove Wedding

We are so happy to finally get these two and their wedding live on our site!!

Reflecting on weddings we've shot has become a favorite past time and this one is no exception. Cue all the feels!

Lots of moments stand out looking back on McCartney & Blake’s beautiful day… first and foremost, the bride and groom. They are such a fun, warm, laid-back, mellow couple. The kind of people that make you feel like life-long friends and who you can get lost in conversation with about pretty much anything. McCartney is an elementary school teacher and Blake is an ocean lifeguard turned fireman. Together they make for a kind-hearted, hard-working duo with a gentle love that makes them obvious soulmates. To boot, they are supported by two amazing (and hilarious) families that had quite the speeches and even better dance moves.

Geoff and Blake have been connected through the ocean lifeguard community for many years. We were so happy to hear about his proposal to McCartney in late 2016. We shot their engagements last spring and had lots of anticipation for their Malibu wedding come September.

If you know anything about southern California beaches, I’m sure you have heard of the quaint, beach-side community of Paradise Cove. It truly lives up to its “paradise” name and is a tight-nit community with a private beach, restaurant, and pier nestled in the stunning cliffs of Malibu. Only a handful of lucky families can say they grew up in Paradise Cove and the Baldwin family is one of them.

It was an obvious decision for Blake & McCartney to say their I-do’s at Paradise Cove. Since Blake grew up there, they had access to a private cliff over-looking the Pacific Ocean. The venue and reception space is not open to the public and thus made for an incredibly special wedding day - the views were simply magnificent (see below!). McCartney wore a Sarah Seven dress that could not have been more perfect for her. Many of the decor was built by Blake, and family and friends came together to put the finishing touches on all their details.

One of our favorite moments from McCartney & Blake's day was capturing bridal portraits during golden hour. This is often our favorite part of a wedding day as its the first moments the bride and groom spend together as husband and wife, and we get to be along for all the emotion, magic, and love. We had access to a golf cart so we shot portraits in all the beautiful corners of Paradise Cove - walking paths, cliff side views, beach, and pier.

Finally, their reception was one we will never forget! It was a true California celebration complete with a taco man and hours of dancing (yes, Geoff and I even busted out a few moves). Lifeguards, fireman and teachers sure know how to party and it topped off an incredibly special day for the new Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin.

Oh, and if you think your seeing double in some of the photos, you are! Blake is an identical twin!

Hope you enjoy reliving all the fun!
